Participant Terms & Safety Disclaimer
1. Nature of the challenge
Run The Village is a permanent, self-guided running and walking challenge. It is not a formally supported road race. There is no fixed event date, starting gun, cut-off time, marshals, road closures, medical teams or guaranteed water points along the route.
2. Participant responsibility
- Participants are solely responsible for their own route navigation, hydration, personal safety and physical fitness.
- Participants must comply with all applicable road rules and remain alert to vehicles, cyclists, animals and pedestrians at all times.
- Road access, surface conditions and route sections may change without notice and without update to this website.
- Participation in the Run The Village challenge, and use of any route, GPX file or information on this website, is entirely at the individual's own risk.
3. Minors
Participants who are minors must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times while attempting the route.
4. Route accuracy
Every reasonable effort is made to verify route information before publication. However, Run The Village does not guarantee that route maps, distances, elevation figures, surface descriptions or completion time estimates are error-free or current at the time of your attempt.
5. Completion submissions & the Roll of Honour
By submitting a completion, you confirm that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Submissions are reviewed manually and are not published automatically. Run The Village reserves the right to decline or remove any submission at its discretion.
6. Finisher vouchers & rewards
From time to time, Run The Village may offer finisher vouchers provided by independent local establishments in Riebeek-Kasteel, sent via WhatsApp or SMS to participants who opt in and provide a mobile number. These vouchers are offered at the discretion of, and are subject to the terms of, the participating establishments. Run The Village does not guarantee voucher availability, value or redemption and is not responsible for the goods or services provided by third-party establishments.
7. Use of personal data
Personal data collected through this website is used only for challenge administration and, where consent is given, approved publication on the Roll of Honour. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Run The Village, Run Every Town, and their organisers accept no liability for any injury, loss or damage arising from participation in this challenge or use of this website.
9. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued participation after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
